Athlete Letsile Tebogo brought Botswana an Olympic gold medal.

The 21-year-old sprinter took first place in the men's 200m race at the Paris Olympics.

This is Botswana's debut Olympic gold in history. Until now, the small African nation could only boast of a silver medal at the 2012 London Games and a bronze medal at Tokyo 2020.

Tebogo is the African champion in the 200 meters (2022). He is also a two-time junior world record holder in the 100 meters with times of 9.94 seconds (July 15, 2022) and 9.91 seconds (August 2, 2022).

Additionally, the athlete holds the world's best in the 300 meters with a time of 30.69 seconds (2024).

The Paris 2024 Olympics are being held from July 26 to August 11. By the way, the Dailysports team has prepared a list of all the Olympic champions of 2024.
