Leipzig aims to recruit current Crystal Palace coach for next season

A few days ago, Leipzig decided to part ways with Marco Rose and has already identified a candidate for the head coach position.

Details: According to insider Florian Plettenberg, the "Bulls" are considering Oliver Glasner as the new head coach. Leipzig has already conducted initial talks with the Austrian specialist's representatives.

However, if Glasner wishes to leave Crystal Palace, he will need to pay compensation, as his contract with the "Eagles" is valid until 2026. Leipzig's current sporting director, Marcel Schäfer, is well acquainted with the coach.

Glasner previously worked in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and Eintracht, with whom he won the UEFA Europa League trophy. In February 2024, he took charge of Crystal Palace, which currently sits 12th in the Premier League.

Reminder: Marco Rose joined Leipzig in September 2022, lifting the team from 11th to 3rd place, securing a Champions League spot, and winning the 2023 German Cup.
