Legends leave Madrid! Real say farewell to Ancelotti and Modrić

Real Madrid wrapped up their season with a victory over Real Sociedad, thanks to a brilliant brace from Mbappé, who is now almost certain to claim the Golden Boot.

The Santiago Bernabéu stands were filled with emotion as fans said goodbye to legends: Carlo Ancelotti took charge of his final match at the helm, while Luka Modrić made his last appearance on the pitch in the iconic white shirt. Lucas Vázquez also played his last game for Real.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. It's a very emotional day for me, and the place where I cried the least was on the pitch, the Croatian star summed up.

Ancelotti, meanwhile, brought the crowd to tears. The legendary Italian received a rousing ovation and delivered a heartfelt farewell speech.

I am very happy, proud, it was an extraordinary time. We can't forget anything that happened, and I leave with all of this—with the love of the people, with pride for having managed this great club for so long. It's normal to cry; I leave truly satisfied. It was an honor and a pleasure to be part of this family and to write and become part of this club's history. That was my goal from day one. And I achieved it.

As a reminder, Ancelotti will take charge of the Brazilian national team this summer, preparing them for the upcoming World Cup. Modrić has yet to decide his future, but he is not planning to hang up his boots just yet.
