Fabrizio Romano reports that the former Barcelona and Atlético Madrid player will become the new head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk.
Details: After a successful season with Eyüpspor (sixth place in the Turkish Süper Lig), Turan accepted the offer to take charge of Shakhtar Donetsk. The Ukrainian club had been searching for a new head coach following a disappointing campaign under Marino Pusic. In the 2024/2025 season, Shakhtar finished below second place for the first time since the 1995/1996 campaign.
The contract with Turan will be signed for two years.
