Legendary. Lautaro Martinez caught up with Maradona in goals for the Argentine national team

Last night, Argentina secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Peru in the 12th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The only goal of the match came from Lautaro Martínez, and it was a special one.

Details: With this goal, Martínez equaled the legendary Diego Maradona’s tally of 32 goals for the Argentine national team.

Lautaro Martínez and Diego Maradona now share fifth place on Argentina’s all-time scoring list. Ahead of them are Hernán Crespo with 35 goals, Sergio Agüero with 41, Gabriel Batistuta with 55, and the untouchable Lionel Messi, who leads with an astonishing 112 goals.
