Leaked VAR Audio and Controversial Decisions Spark Outcry from Former Egypt Star
Former Egyptian football star Ahmed Hossam "Mido" has criticized the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) following its decision to dismiss the refereeing committee. The move came after a recent conversation between Zamalek and Al Ahly Bank involving referee Mohamed Adel and his team came to light Mido voiced his disappointment on social media platform X, saying, “I expected the EFA to vigorously defend their judges. Instead of dismissing the committee, legal action should have been taken against those who interrupted the conversation.”
Mido also described the controversial unrewarded penalty awarded to Zed in the recent Al Ahly game as "an unforgettable scandal in the history of Egyptian football." He also highlighted the challenges facing Zamalek, saying: “Zamalek fans in every championship They take great pride and do it.” They do that.
Zamalek are set to face Smouha in the second leg of the Egyptian Premier League tonight.
