Laporta shed light on Cancelo's and Felix's future at Barcelona

President of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, confirmed the club's intentions to secure the contracts of the Portuguese players Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo permanently during the winter. These players are currently with the Blaugrana on loan.

Laporta mentioned that Barcelona has initiated negotiations with Atletico Madrid, the club holding Felix's transfer rights, and Manchester City, who possess Cancelo's contract, regarding these permanent transfers.

"Their agent, Atlético and Man City already told us what's gonna be needed to sign them. We want both Joãos to be permanent part of the team, not on loan. Let's see how it evolves. I feel all parties will be happy at the end." told Laporta.

Cancelo, the full-back, joined the Blaugrana in September. He has participated in 20 matches for the Catalan side, scoring 3 goals. Meanwhile, Felix, the winger, has netted six goals in 19 matches during the same period.

Barcelona currently holds the third position in the La Liga standings, trailing the top spot by nine points under the leadership of Xavi. On December 20th, the Catalan team will host Almeria as part of their La Liga fixtures.
