Lampard calls him in! Six clubs line up for Mudryk after ban is lifted

Mudryk is back in action and already wanted by six European clubs.

Details: According to The Sun, several clubs have approached Chelsea regarding Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukrainian has regained his right to play after the English Football Association and WADA resolved his disciplinary case, lifting his four-year suspension ahead of schedule.

The most intriguing suitor is Coventry, managed by Frank Lampard. Under the Englishman during his second stint at Chelsea, Mudryk played eight matches. In addition to Coventry, two other Premier League clubs and three teams from continental Europe have also expressed interest.

The winger has already joined Xabi Alonso’s squad for their pre-season tour in Hong Kong, where fans literally mobbed him at the airport on Monday. The Spanish coach called the Ukrainian a special player and admitted he’s excited to work with him, but the club has yet to make a final decision on Mudryk’s future. The player has been told all options are on the table: stay, go out on loan, or transfer, and there’s no rush to decide.

For the record, Mudryk had been training separately from the team since December 2024 after testing positive for meldonium in October of that year. He has always insisted he never knowingly took any banned substances, and after WADA updated its technical standards, the FA confirmed that such a test result wouldn’t even be considered a violation today.

It’s worth noting that Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar in January 2023 for €70 million plus bonuses, has made 73 appearances, scored 10 goals, provided 11 assists, and is under contract with the London club until 2031.
