La Liga files complaint with disciplinary committee over abuse of Nico Williams and Sancet at Camp Nou
Incidents involving abuse of Athletic Bilbao players resurfaced during the match against Barcelona.
Details: Just like last season at Montjuïc, Barcelona fans—this time at Camp Nou—booed and repeatedly insulted Nico Williams every time he touched the ball. Oihan Sancet was also targeted by the crowd after being sent off for a reckless foul with Barcelona leading 3-0.
LaLiga has submitted an official report to the RFEF Disciplinary Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission, documenting the incidents. Among them was the chant "Crush him" when Williams was lying on the pitch. The report also noted the abuse directed at Oihan Sancet, who was called "stupid, stupid" as he was sent off.
Additionally, La Liga reported other crowd misconducts during the round: inappropriate chants at the Osasuna vs Real Sociedad match, widespread abuse at the Valencia derby between Valencia and Levante, as well as attacks on referees during Betis vs Girona, Villarreal vs Mallorca, and against Sevilla supporters at Espanyol’s stadium.
Reminder: Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has launched new accusations against Barcelona and the referees.
