Ghana head coach Otto Addo has revealed a youthful 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Unity Cup in London, with five fresh faces earning their first senior call-ups ahead of the double-header against Nigeria (May 28) and a second match on May 31.

New Talents Emerge

Among the standout inclusions is Abdul Aziz Issah, the 19-year-old winger currently on loan at Barça Atlètic from FC Nordsjaelland. Despite limited minutes in Spain’s third tier, his potential has earned him a maiden senior invite.

He is joined by:

  • Joseph Anang (GK, St Patrick’s Athletic)
  • Aaron Essel (DF, North Texas SC)
  • Caleb Yirenkyi (MF, Nordsjaelland)
  • Mohammed Fuseini (FW, Union SG)

Key Absentees

Ghana will be without several core players:

  • Injured: Mohammed Kudus, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Ernest Nuamah, Elisha Owusu, Antoine Semenyo
  • Rested: Thomas Partey, Michael Baidoo

Returning Experience

Veterans Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Gideon Mensah return to provide leadership, while Salis Abdul Samed is back in the fold after a period away from national duty.

Ghana’s Unity Cup Fixtures:

  • May 28 – Ghana vs Nigeria
  • May 31 – Opponent TBC

This tournament marks a chance for Ghana's next generation to stake their claim ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
