KSI apologizes to Wayne Bridge for insults ahead of canceled boxing match
YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI has admitted to apologizing to former Chelsea player Wayne Bridge for offensive remarks made in the lead-up to their scheduled fight at Misfits 21, reports The Sun.
“I privately DM'd him. And the thing is, I messaged him like, 'Bro, I'm not a d*** head...' But we're selling the fight and I thought he should know that. Wayne Bridge, I'm sorry. I've told you in DMs anyway but yeah, my bad,” KSI said on his podcast.
KSI had previously tried to get under Bridge’s skin by bringing up the infamous scandal involving John Terry and Bridge’s ex-partner. The YouTuber claimed that Bridge was only known for that controversy and continued to insult him in the media.
Following the remarks, Bridge decided to pull out of the fight, which was scheduled for March 29, 2025, in Manchester.
His replacement is expected to be Dillon Danis, who was originally set to fight KSI in January 2023 before backing out.
KSI has not fought since October 2023, when he lost to Tommy Fury.
