There is a strong possibility that Bayern Munich's central midfielder Leon Goretzka will leave the club during the current transfer window.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern's new head coach Vincent Kompany has excluded Goretzka from the squad for today's DFB-Pokal first-round match against Ulm, despite the player not being injured.
The reason for this decision is that Kompany no longer considers Goretzka in his plans and wants the club to sell him.
Goretzka joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2018 from Schalke on a free transfer. Last season, the 29-year-old midfielder played 30 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring 6 goals and providing 9 assists. In total, he has made 221 appearances, scoring 40 goals and delivering 46 assists for Bayern.
The match between Ulm and Bayern Munich is scheduled for today at 20:45 CET.
