Barcelona and Netherlands' central midfielder Frenkie de Jong is expected to recover in time for the start of Euro 2024.

According to ESPN, due to an ankle injury sustained in yesterday's El Clásico against Real Madrid, de Jong will definitely miss the remainder of the current season. However, by early June when the Netherlands begin their preparations for Euro 2024, it is expected that de Jong's full recovery will take from 4 to 5 weeks.

In yesterday's match, de Jong was stretchered off the pitch, raising concerns that the injury might be quite serious.

Following the defeat to Real Madrid, Barcelona is trailing them by 11 points in the La Liga standings and has virtually lost its chances to defend the title.

At Euro 2024, the Netherlands national team will be in the same group as France, Poland, and Austria.
