Kelechi Iheanacho Scores Late Winner as Celtic Beat Hibernian to Boost Title Hopes
Kelechi Iheanacho played the hero as Celtic FC secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Hibernian FC at Easter Road, keeping their Scottish Premiership title push firmly on track.
Celtic took the lead just before halftime through Daizen Maeda, who finished off a simple chance to put the visitors ahead. However, Hibernian responded almost immediately, with Joe Newell finding the equaliser in first-half stoppage time.
The decisive moment came in the second half when Iheanacho was introduced in the 70th minute, replacing Yang Hyun-jun. The Nigerian forward made an immediate impact, scoring just two minutes after coming on to restore Celtic’s lead.
His goal ultimately proved to be the winner and marked his seventh across all competitions this season.
