Kelechi Iheanacho Expresses Delight After Match-Winning Brace Sends Celtic F.C. Into Final
Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his joy after delivering a match-winning performance to help Celtic F.C. secure a place in the Scottish Cup final.
The Nigerian striker came on late in the semi-final clash against St. Mirren F.C. and made an instant impact, scoring twice in extra time as Celtic sealed a commanding 6–2 victory. The result sets up a final showdown with Dunfermline Athletic F.C. next month.
Reacting after the game with Celtic TV, Iheanacho admitted he was overwhelmed with happiness following his contribution.
“I can’t really describe how I feel at the moment,” Iheanacho said. “I’m really happy! “Obviously, there was a little bit of panic in the second half when they got the goals.
The 29-year-old pointed to the team’s resilience after conceding twice, forcing the game into extra time.
‘We were lucky enough to get to extra-time and we blew them away after that.’
“We’re really happy as a team, we really worked hard in extra-time to get the goals.
“In extra-time, we just had to get after them, press them and get the goals, that was the plan.”
