Kamogelo Sebelebele: Orlando Pirates midfielder dejected at how his season has turned out after injury but appreciates support from club hierarchy
Kamogelo Sebelebele’s start to the Betway Premiership signalled a player destined to be a Bafana Bafana regular.
Sebelebele joined Orlando Pirates in the off-season from TS Galaxy as an unknown but his contribution in the MTN8 saw the Sea Robbers lift the trophy with him as one of the key players.
But injury hampered that progress which saw him score winning goals against Mamelodi Sundowns and also scoring deciders in PSL games.
His call-ups to the national team were as a result of the impressive form. With him missing the Bafana Africa Cup of Nations squad, Sebelebele sounded pleased as he recovers and also gave gratitude to him club for emotional support.
“I am happy and proud of myself so far because I’ve been doing well,” Sebelebele told iDiski Times.
“Unfortunately, I got injured, but I will come back strong. Besides the injury, I am happy with everything here at Pirates. The technical team and the management are very supportive. And what’s good is that even as players, we are supportive of each other in spite of us being in competition for starting places.
“We didn’t start the league well, but now we are all working hard. No matter who plays, we support each other because we are all working towards the same goal. “
