Kaizer Chiefs may lose defender Aden McCarthy for Azerbaijan champions Sabah FK

Aden McCarthy is set to leave Kaizer Chiefs for Azerbaijan league champions, Sabah FK.

The defender had a stellar season for Amakhosi in their third place finish and now he is being sought the Azerbaijan giants.

This move is as good as done with both teams set to have agreed on a transfer fee and now the ball is in McCarthy's court to negotiate persona terms.

Sabah FK will not be having a South Africa player for the first time with McCarthy as they also had a another former Chiefs player in their books before.

Hendrik Ekstein left Chiefs to join Sabah and is said to have made a huge impression at the side.

McCarthy joins them after they just won their league championship and have also qualified for the lucrative UEFA Champions League competition.

The deal is expected to be announced late this week.
