Brandon Peterson has missed out on the Bafana Bafana squad for the World Cup.
The Kaizer Chiefs goalminder was expected to make the team to play in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Peterson was key in Chiefs' resurgence this season which saw him display splendid performances against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
These displays saw him become a possible feature in Hugo Broos' squad for the World Cup but it was not to be for the former Bidvest Wits goalkeeper.
He would feel hard done by though given that Pirates goalminder Sipho Chaine made the cut yet he was not tested like him.
It does not seem that Broos trusted Paterson enough as the player only received a call up once from the national coach.
