Kaizer Chiefs discard Happy Mashiane is under assessment at Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC.

The left-back has been let go by Amakhosi after a botched loan spell at Siwelele FC last season.

Mashiane, worked under Gavin Hunt while at Chiefs, and this could also be the reason why Stellies are looking at signing him.

The interesting part though is that the Cape Winelands club has been courting the player before the arrival of Gavin Hunt.

This move could be a lifeline for the 27-year player who has shown immense potential but have not lived up to it since being promoted to the Chiefs first team seven seasons ago.

Siwelele FC were also keen on bringing Mashiane on board as a free agent but did not follow up on the player after his release from Chiefs.
