Kaizer Chiefs coach on the Afcon break: It was good for the team as it meant we had our 'second' pre-season as it helped us work with the whole squad
Cedric Kaze has nothing but praise for the six-week long Africa Cup of Nations break the Betway Premiership comes from.
Kaze hailed the break as a good period for Kaizer Chiefs as it allowed players to recover from injury without pressure unlike when the season is on.
Kaze’s Chiefs face Golden Arrows this evening in PSL game at FNB Stadium where they are expected to cement their intentions of winning the Betway Premiership title.
Amakhosi started the season with great impression as they occupied the top four place and also qualifying for the Caf Confederation Cup group stages.
The Burundian coach described the break as the second pre-season.
“I would say that it was like a pre-season for me, because you have the whole squad. We had issues in our last pre-season due to some administrative issues, some couldn’t attend the pre-season,” Kaze said.
“But now we see that all the players are sharp, and they have worked as a unit, as a group. It gave us time to try new combinations, to assess and to see what is working or what is not, and I would say that it was beneficial for the team.”
The game starts at 7.30pm.
