Turin-based Juventus have made 30-year-old Norwegian Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth their top transfer target for the January window and are preparing an official bid.

Details: According to football insider Ekrem Konur, the Bianconeri’s recruitment department view the powerful Scandinavian marksman as a key addition to their attacking line in mid-season. The negotiations have been made considerably easier by the situation within the Rojiblancos’ camp: Canadian forward Jonathan David’s impressive progress under Diego Simeone has prompted the Spanish club’s hierarchy to soften their stance on selling the Norwegian.

Turin intend to resume substantive talks with the Spaniards in the coming weeks in a bid to complete the deal in the opening days of the window. The Old Lady’s hierarchy are convinced that Sørloth’s phenomenal ability in aerial duels, his strength in battling through defensive lines and his knack for holding up the ball would be an ideal fit for the demanding tactical realities of Italy’s Serie A.

It is worth noting that Alexander Sørloth joined Atlético in the summer of 2024 after a highly successful season at Villarreal, where he challenged for the La Liga Golden Boot until the final matchday. The Norway international boasts an impressive record in Europe’s top leagues, having established himself as a high-class traditional penalty-box centre-forward.
