Legendary Italian club, Juventus, have announced on their website the appointment of Thiago Motta as first-team head coach.

His contract will run until the summer of 2027. Insiders have previously reported that Motta will be paid around €5 million per season at Juventus, but there is no official information yet.

"I am very excited to start a new experience at the helm of a great club like Juventus. I thank the owners and the management of the club, to whom I pledge my ambition to keep the Bianconeri colours flying high and the fans happy,’ said Thiago Motta.

Last season, Thiago Motta coached Bologna. The 41-year-old specialist finished the season in the UEFA Champions League zone, so the club from Emilia-Romagna for the first time in history will play in the main European Cup tournament of our time.

Thiago Motta was born in Brazil, but played for the Italian national team. At club level as a footballer, Motta defended the colours of Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Genoa, Internazionale Milan and PSG.

Immediately after finishing his career in 2018, Motta became a coach at Paris Saint-Germain's academy.

Just a year later, he was invited by Genoa, however, after just ten matches, the management fired the coach: on his account there were two wins and five defeats.

Six months later, the Italian of Brazilian origin led Spezia and saved for a modest club a place in Serie A.

In September 2022, Motta became head coach of Bologna.

The specialist entered the top 20 coaches in the history of Bologna by the number of matches held at the head of the club - 76.

Recall that last season, Juventus was led by Massimiliano Allegri. Under his leadership last season, Juventus made it to the Champions League and won the Italian Cup.
