Juventus has announced the signing of a contract with Argentine midfielder Carlos Alcaraz. The loan agreement for the 21-year-old midfielder will be valid until the end of the current season.

Earlier reports indicated that Juventus would have the option to buy Alcaraz for €40 million.

The versatile midfielder is a product of the Argentine club Racing, where he played 83 matches and scored 12 goals. Last year, the Argentine joined Southampton. In the current Championship campaign, he has played 23 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. In the previous Premier League season, he scored 4 goals and made 2 assists in 18 appearances.

Juventus has also signed an 18-year-old defender from Brazilian club Palmeiras, Pedro Felipe, on loan. The young player's loan agreement is valid until the end of the season, and he will be part of Juventus' youth team.

After 22 Serie A rounds, Juventus is in second place, trailing Inter by just one point. On February 4th, Juventus and Inter will face each other to vie for the top spot in Serie A.
