On Thursday, November 21, jury deliberations began in the civil case accusing MMA star Conor McGregor of raping Nikita Ní Laimhín, reports Daily Mail. McGregor appeared in court accompanied by his partner and family members.
The lawsuit alleges that McGregor brutally raped and assaulted Ní Laimhín in the penthouse suite of the Beacon Hotel in Dublin in December 2018. McGregor denies the accusations, asserting that the sexual encounter was consensual.
Before deliberations, the jury heard testimony from both parties and witnesses, along with closing arguments and the judge’s instructions.
The jury must determine whether an assault on Ní Laimhín occurred. If they rule in her favor, they will also decide on the amount of damages and compensation to be awarded.
Conor McGregor, an Irish fighter, has been in a relationship with his partner, Dee Devlin, since 2008. The couple has four children, the youngest born in December 2023.
