Jürgen Klopp's failure. Germany beaten by Greece in Nations League clash
Germany suffered a shock defeat to Greece in the second round of the UEFA Nations League. Jürgen Klopp's side lost 0-1 on home soil, with the only goal of the match coming in the second half.
Despite their territorial dominance and lengthy spells of possession, Germany were unable to turn their advantage into goals. The decisive moment came in the 74th minute, when Dimitris Kourbelis found the net to give Greece the victory.
As a result, Klopp suffered his first defeat at the helm of the German national team. Moreover, Germany's start under their new coach has been extremely disappointing: after two Nations League matches, the team are still without a win.
In the opening round, Klopp's side also failed to secure a victory, drawing 1-1 with the Netherlands. Germany now have just one point after two rounds, while their position in the group is becoming increasingly difficult.
Greece, by contrast, have made a perfect start to the tournament. Following their victory over Germany, the Greeks have two wins from two matches and sit top of the group, which also includes the Netherlands and Serbia.
