Julio Enciso scored in the Premier League for the first time in two years. The Paraguayan delivered a debut goal+assist in the match

Paraguayan midfielder Julio Enciso scored an important goal for himself in the English Premier League match against Chelsea.

During the summer transfer window, the player left Brighton, where he had been getting little playing time, and moved to the camp of Premier League underdogs, Ipswich Town. In the ranks of the "Tractor Boys," Enciso broke his goal drought and scored in the Premier League for the first time since May 24, 2023.

The 21-year-old Enciso netted in the Ipswich match against Chelsea in the 19th minute, responding to a cross from Benjamin Johnston from the right flank.

Later, Enciso also provided an assist to Johnston. Thus, he recorded a "goal+assist" in one match: an achievement the Paraguayan hadn't accomplished once in his club career since moving to Europe.

Now the talented South American has 5 goals in the English Premier League. Of his previous four goals, three were scored against top clubs: Arsenal, Man City, and Chelsea again. Bournemouth also suffered from him once.

Remarkably, despite his goal drought in the Premier League, Julio has been relatively consistent in scoring in other competitions. For instance, in March during the international break, the midfielder scored one of Paraguay's goals against Colombia in a World Cup 2026 qualifier (2-2). And in January of this year, he scored for Brighton in a match against Norwich in the FA Cup.

It should be noted that Julio Enciso's loan to Ipswich Town expires at the end of the current season, after which the player is expected to return to Brighton.
