He has previously represented Belgium at youth level
Born in Belgium, the defensive midfielder will now play for the Leopards on the international stage.
Jorthy Mokio has made his choice regarding his international career. Although he has worn the Belgium youth team shirt, the 18-year-old defensive midfielder now wants to play for the DR Congo.
His decision comes a month ahead of the World Cup, which is set to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is therefore likely that the Ajax Amsterdam defender will be part of Sébastien Desabre’s squad for the trip to America this summer.
