Jordan Ayew: a career marked by relegation
Different clubs, same fate in the Ghanaian international’s career.
Jordan Ayew continues to endure nightmarish seasons in his professional career. Since turning professional, the Ghanaian has suffered a string of relegations with various clubs. He has been relegated six times with five different clubs in his career.
Before being relegated with Leicester City to the English third tier this season, Ayew had already suffered the same fate a few years earlier. The Ghanaian striker was relegated with Sochaux in France during the 2013–2014 season, with Lorient in 2014–2015, Aston Villa in 2015–2016, and Swansea City in 2017–2018.
Last season, Ayew and Leicester City were relegated to the Championship before dropping down to the third tier in 2025–2026. A dark chapter in the Ghanaian international’s career.
