Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, who broke the news on social network X, the transfer of 23-year-old Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis to Atlético Madrid is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours.
The personal terms between the midfielder and the club have already been agreed. Only minor formalities remain—once those are settled, Cardoso will officially become an Atlético player.
The reported transfer fee stands at €30 million. The midfielder is expected to sign a five-year contract with the club.
Last season, the defensive midfielder featured in 46 matches for Betis, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist. Cardoso joined the Spanish side from Brazilian club Internacional in January 2024 for €6 million. His current contract runs until 2030.
According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is estimated at €25 million.
