Atlético Sets Sights on Yuri Alberto as Correa’s Successor

Atlético de Madrid is wasting no time preparing for life after Ángel Correa. With the Argentine forward set to leave the club, Diego Simeone has already informed the board of his desired replacement. According to Diario AS, the club is targeting Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto, currently at Corinthians.
Yuri Alberto, 24, fits the mold of a dynamic and versatile forward, a profile that closely resembles Correa’s. His numbers speak for themselves: 32 goals and 7 assists across 58 matches in the last year, making him the top scorer in the 2024 Brasileirao and a standout in the Copa Sudamericana.
The timing aligns with reports from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed that Correa has agreed terms with Tigres UANL in Mexico. However, the move won’t be made official until Atlético concludes its participation in the Club World Cup.
Bringing in Yuri Alberto would not only fill a tactical void but also signal Atlético’s intent to rejuvenate its attack with emerging talent from South America.
