Details: According to Sky Sports, Barton was found guilty on six counts of posting offensive content on social media. His posts targeted Jeremy Vine, Lucy Ward, and Eni Aluko.

At Liverpool Crown Court, the jury agreed that Barton had crossed the line between freedom of speech and criminal conduct. The former footballer had argued in his defence that his comments were meant as dark and foolish humour.
