Cristiano Ronaldo gave an extensive interview to renowned journalist Piers Morgan. Released in two parts, the Portuguese star shared numerous stories and made several bold and scandalous remarks.

The Dailysports team has compiled all of Ronaldo’s most controversial quotes from the interview.

It began with his declaration that he is the greatest player in history — better than Lionel Messi.

Quote: What do you think when people say, “Lionel Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo?” — Piers Morgan.
Cristiano Ronaldo: I disagree [that Messi is better]. I don’t want to be humble...

The conversation also turned to the World Cup — whether winning it is Ronaldo’s biggest dream and how he feels about Argentina’s triumph and Lionel Messi’s success at the tournament.

Quote: For me, you are the GOAT. For me, Messi isn’t even Argentina’s GOAT. Maradona was better than him — Piers Morgan.

Cristiano: Thank you. And how many World Cups did Argentina win before Messi? It’s normal for them. They’re used to winning… But if Portugal were to win the World Cup, it would shock the world.

Quote: “Winning the World Cup is NOT my dream. I don’t think a tournament of six or seven games can determine whether you’re the best player in the world or not,” said Ronaldo.

Quote: Is there a scenario where you could score your 1000th goal at the World Cup? — asked Piers Morgan.
You’ll be surprised by my answer. Winning the World Cup is not my dream, replied Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo also stated that he believes he is the most famous person in the world. He added that he is the first footballer billionaire — an undeniable fact, he said, because numbers don’t lie.

Quote: “I’m the most famous person in the world. Name one person more famous than me.”

Quote: “I’m the only billionaire in football. Numbers don’t lie. You can call me arrogant, but numbers don’t lie.”

When asked who would attract more attention walking down the street — him or David Beckham — assuming neither was famous, Ronaldo responded:

Quote: “Both not famous? Me, 100%. His face is beautiful, the rest is average. But I’m not average — I’m perfect.”

He also claimed that he and Donald Trump have something in common, though he refused to reveal what that was.

Quote: “I’ll tell Donald Trump that we have something in common, but I can’t say what it is in this interview.”

Ronaldo further compared the Saudi Pro League to several European leagues.

Quote: “The Saudi League is much better than the Portuguese league. The French league is just PSG.”

Reminder: In his legendary interview with Piers Morgan, 40-year-old Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who now plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, also revealed the reason for his absence from the funeral of his Portugal teammate Diogo Jota.
