Javier Tebas threatens to kill the Club World Cup
Tebas’s battle with FIFA’s brainchild rages on.
Details: The 62-year-old La Liga president Javier Tebas gave an interview to the Spanish Football Federation channel, once again voicing his discontent with the Club World Cup, which, according to him, throws the planning of the domestic league calendar into chaos.
There have also been numerous cases of players and coaches complaining about increased workloads caused by the frequent scheduling of unnecessary matches. It appears the Club World Cup falls squarely into this category.
Florentino Pérez, for his part, believes that the current format of the Club World Cup is the best in the tournament’s history, despite all the problems and organizational nuances that come with staging the matches.
Reminder: Athletic and Tebas cite the FIFA rule in the Williams case, which does not apply in Spain
