Reports indicate that Neymar's recovery from a shinbone injury has taken longer than initially planned. As a result, Neymar did not take part in Brazil's team training session, making his appearance in the opening group match against Morocco, just three days away, impossible.
It also remains uncertain whether Neymar will recover in time for the fixtures against Haiti and Scotland.
Earlier, the Seleção head coach came under fire for choosing the injury-prone 34-year-old Neymar over the younger Chelsea forward João Pedro.
