On 4 June, the reigning European champion Italy will play their first friendly match in preparation for Euro 2024. The opponent of Luciano Spaletti's team will be the national team of Turkey.

The Italian team approaches this match with a crisis in the defence line. On Monday Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini injured his cruciate ligaments, earlier European champion Francesco Acerbi was injured, and he will not go to Germany.

The Turks are also not without injuries in the defensive line. Calgar Soyuncu and Ridvan Yilmaz will also not play in the match in Bologna, but striker Cengiz Ünder will also miss this meeting. In general, both Luciano Spaletti and his compatriot Vincenzo Montella will be able to count on a more or less optimal squad.

Both teams will play at the European Championship, but the Turks have three days more to prepare. Italy at Euro 2024 will play their opening match in Germany on 15 June against Albania, while the Turkish team will start at Euro 2024 with a match against Sakartvelo on 18 June.

Overall, both teams are expected to take to the pitch in experimental squads to assess their talent pool ahead of the European Championships, but there will be plenty of time to do so.

Both Italy and Turkey will play one more friendlies before Euro 2024: the Italians will take on Bosnia and Herzegovina on 9 June, while the Turks will play in Warsaw against Poland the following day.

Based on these facts, as well as the personnel situation in the national teams, the Dailysports team has prepared predicted line-ups for the Italy vs Turkey match.
