Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly will leave the Cherries in the summer as a free agent and is expected to move to Newcastle. However, there is a club in Italy who are ready to break this idyll and lure the centre-back to them.

According to Sky Sports, Roma are interested in the services of the 25-year-old defender, as well as Atlético Madrid. However, the report admits that the leader in the race to sign Kelly is still Newcastle.

If the top clubs manage to lure the Bournemouth defender to them, it will be a bit different from the press statements, according to which Newcastle were confident that Kelly, as well as Fulham defender Tosin Adarabiyo would end up in Eddie Howe's team. The latter is close to a contract with Chelsea as a result.

Kelly made 23 appearances last season, one of which included an assist for a team-mate.
