Barcelona managed to avoid a clash with PSG, the reigning Champions League holders, but as Flick noted, that doesn't make things any easier:

"There are no easy games in the UEFA Champions League.

Newcastle are a great team as well—we've seen that in their recent matches and also when we played them there.

It won't be easy. In my opinion, you always have to respect your opponent. Everyone wants to reach the final, and so do we. Newcastle want it too." - Flick stated.

The two sides have already met in this season's Champions League. In the opening round of the group stage, Newcastle suffered a 1-2 defeat to Barcelona at home.

Historically, the teams have faced each other just five times, with Newcastle winning only once.
