"It was tough for many reasons": Jack Grealish reflects on a difficult year

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has opened up about the challenges he faced over the past year, The Sun reports.

The English midfielder admitted that 2024 was particularly difficult, as he struggled with poor form and spent long spells on the bench. His struggles on the pitch led to Gareth Southgate leaving him out of England’s squad for the Euros last summer.

"Last year, the whole year itself, it was weird because my little daughter was born, but apart from that it was one of the most difficult years. Probably the most difficult year of my life for many reasons, on and off the pitch. I found it really difficult. It’s a New Year now, and hopefully I can kick on from here," Grealish shared.

The 28-year-old also emphasized that he needs regular playing time to regain his rhythm. Missing matches has made it difficult for him to maintain his best form, and he hopes to get more opportunities moving forward.

Meanwhile, Manchester City continues to face a difficult period, with the team experiencing a slump in form over the past few months.
