“It was a tricky match,” said Achraf Hakimi after Morocco’s victory over Haiti
The captain of the Atlas Lions highlighted the Moroccan team’s resilience during this final group stage match.
Morocco beat Haiti 4–2 to finish second in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, the match proved more difficult than it appeared. The Atlas Lions found themselves trailing on two occasions before turning the game around. After the match, Achraf Hakimi acknowledged the difficulties they faced during the game, despite Morocco’s victory.
“It was a tricky and challenging match for us. We didn’t start well, but we drew on our fighting spirit to turn the match around. It wasn’t an easy group; we gave it our all, but Brazil scored more goals than us. We’re proud of our run, but we’ll prepare thoroughly because the next match will be a tough one.”
