Achraf Hakimi equals Abdeljalil Hadda’s World Cup feat
A feat not seen for 28 years
Thanks to his performance against Haiti on the third and final matchday of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, Hakimi has further cemented his place in the history of Moroccan football.
Achraf Hakimi put in an excellent performance during Morocco’s 4–2 victory over Haiti on Wednesday 24 June at the World Cup. The Atlas Lions’ captain first equalised for Morocco in the 39th minute before providing an assist for Ismael Saibari to score a second equaliser in the 45th minute.
Hakimi thus becomes the second Moroccan player to achieve such a feat in a single World Cup match. Before him, only Abdeljalil Hadda had managed this feat in 1998 against Scotland.
