Former Arsenal defender Kolo Toure shared in an interview with Sun Sport how the necessity to observe fasting during Ramadan affected his condition. Surprisingly, the footballer admitted that it made him stronger.

It's worth noting that Ramadan spans the period from March 1 to March 30, during which Muslims are prohibited from eating and drinking during daylight hours. Considering the need to constantly play and train, this should negatively impact the footballers' condition, but Toure claims quite the opposite, believing that observing the fast actually made him stronger psychologically.

"The thing is, it’s strange and hard to explain, but it made me feel psychologically very strong, and as the month went on, I got even fitter," Toure stated.

He also confessed that he never missed fasting throughout his entire career. Notably, Toure played at the highest level for some of the Premier League's best teams—Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool.

With both the London and Manchester clubs, the Ivorian became an English champion and won the FA Cups and Community Shields.
