"It is unacceptable". Ten Hag is unhappy with the behavior of the Manchester United star
Manchester United's head coach, Erik ten Hag, canceled the day off for the players after their devastating defeat to Manchester City on Monday (0-3). However, team striker Marcus Rashford did not heed this directive and was spotted at a late-night celebration for his 26th birthday. On Friday, United's coach confirmed that he had spoken with the star of the English national team.
"Yes, I'm aware of it. I spoke with him," ten Hag said during his press conference ahead of the United match against Fulham on Saturday. "It's unacceptable. I told him, he apologized, and that's it. It's an internal matter for us."
When asked whether Rashford is making every effort to meet all the demands, the team's coach came to his defense.
"He's highly motivated. I know how much effort he puts in. He makes mistakes, but that doesn't mean he's not trying. He makes mistakes, both on and off the field, but I'm confident he's doing everything right to help the team."
Pressure on Ten Hag is mounting as Manchester United is enduring its worst start to a season in 61 years. His team suffered another home defeat to Newcastle in the League Cup on Wednesday, with a score of 3-0. While it is believed that the coach still has the support of the club's leadership, there are reports that some players are losing faith in him.
