It is known what decision Atletico have made about Felix's future

Barcelona have repeatedly emphasised that they would like to keep Atlético forward João Félix in their ranks, but the poor financial state of the Blaugrana will not yet allow them to formalise a full-fledged deal.

The Camp Nou want to extend the Portuguese's loan for another season, but according to Matteo Moretto, the Madrid club's main goal is to avoid re-leasing the Portuguese, or at least without a buyout clause. Atlético wants to find a permanent club for Felix.

However, the buyout clause that the Los Colchoneros want to include in the rental agreement is unaffordable for the Catalans. Diario Sport reports a sum of 65 million euros, while Barcelona can stretch the amount to no more than 30 million euros.

The problem is that the obligation to buy out the contract at the end of the contract is included in the salary cap for the season, so Barcelona will have to turn down players with big salaries if they really want to get Felix. But so far there are no suitors for the 24-year-old forward.
