Barcelona's sporting director has commented on the future of Araujo, Cancelo and Felix
Barcelona's sporting director Deco is not to be envied at the moment, with several important missions falling on his shoulders: optimising the squad to raise €200 million and finding a new head coach. But it seems that clarity on these matters is beginning to emerge.
For example, there is a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Blaugrana centre-back Ronald Araujo, who could leave the team if he doesn't sign a new contract. Here's how Deco himself commented on the negotiations:
"Araujo's contract? He will sign a new agreement if that's what he wants. We will make an effort because he deserves it. Our efforts as a club are aimed at keeping the best players we have."
Also shining for Barcelona at the moment are loanees João Félix and João Cancelo, and here's how the club's sporting director sees their future:
"We would like to keep Felix and Cancelo here if there are good terms with Atletico and Manchester City respectively. It all depends on the terms of the deal," The Daily Briefing quoted Deco as saying.
