In modern cricket, the bat is not just a piece of sporting equipment—it's also one of the most valuable advertising platforms in the world.

Details: According to Muffatball Vikrant, fresh data on sponsorship contracts for India's top players reveals a staggering gap in the value of sticker deals on equipment. The undisputed industry leader remains Virat Kohli, whose annual income from bat branding alone exceeds 12 crore rupees (about $1.4 million). His immense media presence allows him to maintain a level of influence out of reach for most of his national teammates.

The younger generation is rapidly closing in on the veterans, as reflected in their financial reports. New T20 captain Shubman Gill earns between 8 and 10 crore rupees from his bat sponsor, while Ishan Kishan brings in around 7–10 crore in the same segment.

Notably, legends like Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni now receive significantly less for their bat deals than the rising stars—about 3–4 crore rupees a year. This shift highlights a change in marketing priorities in favor of the new generation.

At the lower end of the top earners' list are ambitious players whose potential is only starting to translate into major paychecks. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Hardik Pandya have contracts in the range of 4 crore, while Shreyas Iyer, Abhishek Sharma, and KL Rahul each make about 1–1.5 crore rupees annually.

Reminder: Shubman Gill is set to become the captain of the Indian national team, which is preparing for a major overhaul.
