“I’m not going to lie, I’m baffled. When you’re in form, you’ve regained your level and you’ve long harboured the ambition of playing in a World Cup with your country, it’s inevitably hard to take. But I respect the decisions made… I’ll keep working, keep up the pace and maintain my fitness. And as long as there’s a chance, I’ll be ready to step up.”
