Spain and Portugal are battling it out in the UEFA Nations League final. Regular time ended with a 2-2 draw, forcing both teams to play an additional 30 minutes of extra time.
The controversy erupted late in the first half of extra time, when Nuno Mendes went down in the Spanish penalty area after a tussle with Baena. The Portuguese players were adamant in their appeals for a penalty, but the referee ruled that there was no foul play in the incident.
As a reminder, both Portugal and Spain have one Nations League title each. A victory for either side would make them the most decorated team in the history of the tournament.
