Is there hope? Mexico agrees to host Iran's matches at the 2026 World Cup
The issue surrounding Iran’s participation in the 2026 World Cup may soon find a resolution.
Details: According to the AZ-Intel portal, Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum has announced that her country is prepared to host Iran’s national team matches at the 2026 World Cup after Iranian authorities flatly refused to allow their players to travel to the United States, where Iran’s fixtures were originally scheduled to take place.

Sheinbaum stated that Mexico stands firmly for peace and is ready to lend a helping hand to any nation:
"We maintain relations with all countries around the world. Let’s see what FIFA decides," Claudia said.
FIFA has yet to issue an official stance regarding the relocation of Iran’s matches to Mexico, though officials have previously noted that such a move would be logistically challenging.
Iran is set to compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Egypt, and New Zealand.
