Now Eriksen faces a challenging road to recovery.
Details: Today, Wolfsburg’s official X page shared new updates on Christian Eriksen’s recovery, after the Danish midfielder lost consciousness during a friendly against Ukraine due to heart issues.
The 34-year-old will undergo the next stage of his rehabilitation back home. Very soon, Eriksen is set to begin an individual rehab program in Denmark, where he’ll be under the close supervision of specialists.
In their official statement, the German club emphasized that they remain in constant contact with the player and his medical team, closely monitoring his progress throughout the recovery process.
“VfL maintains ongoing communication with both Christian and his doctors. We continue to wish Christian all the best throughout his rehabilitation,” the club’s statement reads.
Let’s not forget, this isn’t the first such episode in Eriksen’s career. Back in 2021, he suffered a cardiac arrest during a European Championship match against Finland. Despite that dramatic incident, the Dane managed to return to professional football.
