Yesterday, Eriksen gave the entire football world a serious scare.
Details: Today, 34-year-old Danish national team and Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen addressed fans with a statement about the incident in yesterday’s friendly against Ukraine, where the Dane once again collapsed unconscious on the pitch.
Eriksen was quick to reassure fans, saying that he is feeling fine:
"I want to let everyone know that I am doing well and that I am at home with my family.
As you can probably imagine, the shock from my ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) had a significant impact on both me and my family. But I want to assure everyone that this situation is different from what happened in 2021.
I feel good, and my recovery is already underway." - said Eriksen.
This episode brought back chilling memories for fans of the incident six years ago at the Euros, when Eriksen also collapsed during a match between Denmark and Finland, but was miraculously revived by the medical staff.
At the moment, there is no information as to whether Eriksen will continue his career after this incident, or if he will be forced to hang up his boots for good.
